Outside Benefits

Tuition Benefits

Under federal law and Georgetown University policy, you must report all tuition benefits you expect to receive to OSFS, as they are considered resources available towards meeting your financial need and overall cost of education. For undergraduate students receiving Georgetown University Scholarship, Georgetown Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) benefits will replace this scholarship on a dollar-for-dollar basis. The Office of Faculty and Staff Benefits determines your eligibility for the Georgetown Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).

Tuition benefits external to Georgetown are considered a resource and we may be required to revise your financial aid award. You should contact your representative in the OSFS to discuss how your benefit will impact your aid.

Veterans Benefits

The Office of Student Financial Services works closely with the Georgetown University Veterans Office to connect student veterans with the resources they need to successfully transition from combat to classroom to career. To determine if you qualify for veteran benefits and to ask any other questions regarding your eligibility, please contact the veterans office directly. Once you have determined whether you are eligible for VA funding, contact your OSFS counselor to report this benefit and learn how it may impact other components of your financial aid.
