Due to limited funding, Georgetown is not able to meet 100 percent of demonstrated financial need during the summer term, but some aid is available.
Scholarships for Georgetown Undergraduates
Georgetown scholarships are available in limited numbers and amounts for undergraduates who are enrolling in the summer term and who demonstrate financial need. Priority is given to undergraduates who received scholarship assistance during the previous academic year and who must enroll in summer school in order to graduate on time with their class.
Preference is also given to those who submit a completed summer aid application to the Office of Student Financial Services by April 1.
These awards help pay all or part of summer tuition charges but typically do not provide assistance in meeting summer expenses for travel, room or board. The awards may not be used for tutorials or consortium courses. Undergraduates who are eligible for federal Pell grant awards and who have not already received the maximum allowable annual amount during the preceding academic year may be eligible to receive this grant for the summer term.
Scholarships for Graduate Students
Contact your academic department for information about support for the summer term. Loans Students who enroll at least half time in summer school who have not already borrowed the maximum loan amounts during the preceding academic year may be eligible to borrow additional amounts to meet summer school costs.
Georgetown degree candidates may be eligible for Federal Work-Study funding for employment during the summer term if sufficient Federal Work-Study funds are available in any given year.
Summer aid applications submitted to the Office of Student Financial Services by April 1 will be given first priority for limited scholarship funds. Early submission is strongly recommended because funds are limited, and awards are made on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. Responses to applications and award announcements will be emailed to students on a rolling basis.
