Interest begins to accrue upon disbursement of both Undergraduate and Graduate PLUS Loan proceeds. For the Undergraduate PLUS Loan, repayment of principal and interest begins within 60 days of the final disbursement . A Federal Graduate PLUS Loan may be granted an in-school deferment upon on school certification. Both Federal PLUS Loans are eligible for Federal Loan Consolidation, which may assist in reducing monthly payments and extending the repayment period.
