Many Georgetown students and families choose education loans to assist them in meeting the cost of attendance. The primary source of funding is the Federal Stafford Loan. Parents of dependent undergraduates often select the Federal PLUS Loan, while graduate students may utilize the Graduate Federal PLUS Loan.  In addition, the University is able to offer the Federal Perkins Loan and the Nursing Student Loan to students with exceptional need, when funds permit. Finally, there are a variety of private loans to which students and parents may apply for when additional funds are required to meet educational costs or the borrower is not eligible to receive federal loans.
