Graduate Federal PLUS loans is a government-sponsored fixed interest student loan obtained through a private lender, such as a bank, credit union, or savings and loan association under the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) program.

The interest rate for Graduate Federal PLUS Loans is fixed at 8.5% for loans disbursed after July 1, 2006.

• A graduate student may borrow up to the cost of attendance minus financial aid
• Student borrower must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
• Student borrower must be enrolled at least half-time, not be in default, or owe a refund on any Federal student aid program
• Student borrower must have a satisfactory credit rating
