School of Foreign Service Class of 1929, and his wife Martha McFall. The donors' desire is for the fund they established to provide scholarship awards perpetually, and for the awards to benefit an increasing number of students at the School of Foreign Service in future generations. Similarly, Georgetown's long-term goal is to make an education at this university just as feasible for those with modest financial resources as it is for those with substantial resources. Therefore, you are asked, as a recipient of someone else's exemplary generosity, to be generous yourself to an exemplary degree. The University recognizes that in future years, the recipients of McFall Scholarships will attain varying levels of personal wealth from their careers, as a result of variations in individual desires, abilities, and circumstances. Whatever your personal situation, Georgetown asks you to personally resolve to give back to the McFall Fund the amount you received from it. The University suggests that you choose a year in the foreseeable future -- not to exceed 25 years after graduation -- as your individual goal for completely giving back to the McFall Fund the amount you received from it. Georgetown asks that your future gifts earmarked for the McFall Fund be apart from -- and in addition to -- your ordinary support of the Alumni Annual fund and capital campaigns which may occur from time to time. The University recognizes that the effort and commitment sought from you are extra-ordinary. Your selection as a McFall Scholarship awardee indicates you have extraordinary capabilities."
