Bellarmine and Ignatian Scholarships

The Robert Bellarmine and The Ignatian Scholarship Programs

The Bellarmine and Ignatian Scholarships are awarded to selected GU undergraduates who demonstrate financial need for scholarship assistance.

Candidates for these scholarships are nominated by the GU Office of Undergraduate Admissions based on their exceptionally distinguished high school records.  Students are nominated during both the Early Action and the Regular Decision process.

Bellarmine Scholarships are awarded to eligible students nominated by their Jesuit high school who ranked first in their class.

Ignatian Scholarships are offered to selected eligible students nominated by their Jesuit high school, from the pool of students who ranked in the top 5% of their class and who represent the Ignatian ideals in their personal accomplishments.

If no financial need is shown by a nominee as an entering freshman, the nominee is designated an "honorary" Bellarmine or Ignatian Scholar and receives an honorary one-year non-renewable $1,000 Bellarmine or Ignatian Scholarship award.  For others who demonstrate financial need, Bellarmine and Ignatian Scholarships are renewed for four years of undergraduate study at Georgetown provided the student continues to demonstrate financial need for scholarship assistance.
